Forms, colours and materials interact to become a novel visual experience.
Following the success of last year’s joint installation “Disposition”, designer Ulrike Jurklies continued the collaboration with us and with the Dutch “innovative supersize printing expert” Big Impact, aiming to reach an even higher level with this year’s project.
“See-through” leads Ulrike Jurklies back to her roots, prior to her Industrial Design studies in Munich, she was trained as a carpenter.
Inspired by the visual appeal of the left-overs of the production of colored plastic panels, she decided to design a furniture series with the material. The designs of all the objects are based on classical joining techniques, a clear form language and the high-quality appearance of the colorful-transparent material. The presented prototypes were developed and manufactured by us, at Zweko Optics in Belgium.
Also the graphical patterns on the bio based wall covering were designed by Ulrike Jurklies. This wall paper Gluetex Biovate, was developed by Big Impact and gives the project an extra ‘dimension’.
Ulrike Jurklies collated all these elements into one unique composition. Forms, colours and materials amplify one another and invite to a novel visual experience.
